Crown lifting

Crown lifting involves the removal of lower branches with the end result being to lift the height of the base of the crown to a desired height.

Pollarding

Pollarding is a method of maintaining trees at a predetermined height that is smaller than they would normally grow.

Crown reduction

Crown reduction is the process of removing branch tips and pruning back to a growth point further down the branch to reduce the overall size of the tree.

Crown thinning

Crown thinning involves removing a number of secondary branches in such a way that it produces a balanced crown structure, without altering the overall size or shape of the tree. It helps with light and reduces the sail effect of the tree.

Tree felling

The cutting or removal of a tree down to ground level.

Stump grinding

This is the preferred method of stump removal. The machine continuously planes away the stump until the depth and area are met.
